This is a personal portfolio site. It has no advertising, no trackers and no third-party analytics. This page says plainly what it stores and why.
Visitors
What happens when you read this site.
No accounts, no tracking, no advertising. Reading this site does not require signing in, and nothing you do here is profiled or sold. No analytics service is loaded and no advertising or tracking cookies are set.
The one cookie this site can set is a sign-in session for the owner’s private writing area. It is never set for ordinary visitors.
The server that hosts this site keeps standard access logs — IP address, timestamp, page requested — as essentially every web server does. They are used to keep the site running and secure, and for nothing else.
Embedded posts
The one place a third party is involved.
Some pages in the writing section embed a post using LinkedIn’s official embed, so the live discussion appears alongside the article. Those embeds are loaded directly from LinkedIn, which means LinkedIn can see that your browser requested them and may set its own cookies, exactly as if you had opened the post on LinkedIn.
That is LinkedIn’s processing, under LinkedIn’s privacy policy, not this site’s. Pages without an embedded post make no request to LinkedIn at all.
The LinkedIn connection
How posting from this site works.
Santhosh Mallikeswaran writes posts in a private area of this site. When he chooses to, a post is published to his own LinkedIn feed at the same time.
To do that, he authorises this site once through LinkedIn’s standard OAuth screen. The site then stores an access token, its expiry, and his LinkedIn member identifier. That token is held server-side, is never exposed to visitors, and is used for exactly one thing: publishing posts he has written and chosen to share.
The site cannot read his LinkedIn feed, messages, connections or contacts, and does not request permission to. The only permissions granted are to identify the account and to post on his behalf.
He can revoke that access at any time in LinkedIn under Settings → Data Privacy → Permitted Services, or by disconnecting from within this site. Revoking stops all posting immediately and the stored token is discarded.
